GANG film screening

I went to the screening of the independent film called Gang.
Dazed magazine describes it as

"Subway dancing and vogue soulsearching on Staten Island with Infinite Coles, Mela Murder and Denasia Moore"

The film was Produced by Jefferson Projects and directed by NY-based filmmaker Clayton Vomero,

Overall I enjoyed the film. I was surprised to hear that it was scripted. I genuinely thought it was a 'reality tv' type short film.
It was interesting to see the lives of young people in New York and their love of vogue dance.

Mela and Infinite also came to our training sessions and we enjoyed learning and dancing with them.

The night then ended with dancing, mainly voguing until the wee hours of the morning,

There also is a tumblr account where you can see some gifs from the film.
Have a look and a scroll down, see if you can spot me!

Red bull Music academy Voguing

A couple of weeks ago I attended the Red bull music academy with chapter 10 T dance event.

This was held in Shoreditch town hall and involved a lot of dancing, music and performances.

A couple of my friends were performing so I decided to come down and support.

They are mostly freestylers that specialise in vogue dance. Lets just say the crowd loved them and I felt so proud :)

Afterwards everyone just danced and enjoyed themselves, It was a really nice vibe and a great event.
It was a daytime event so it ended around 7pm.

I have included some clips below of the event.
The dancers in the video are, Benjamin Milan, David Magnifique, Paleta, Tamsier Joof, Alex Mugleur and some other fierce french voguers which I did not catch the names of.

They are only small clips but hopefully will show a little of the magic of that night.

Footlocker Adidas chill boost campaign shoot

I can only apologise for my lack of updates in this blog!

I have a couple of posts coming up so that should get the ball rolling again!

I recently was involved in an Adidas online commercial for a new range of trainers/sneakers coming out.
Usually shoot days are very long and a lot of waiting around. However I was pleasantly surprised to be wrapped by lunchtime.

The theme of the shoot was to have a famous footballer walking around the streets, visiting places and his interactions with people.

However the camera was on some kind of selfie stick and would only focus mainly on feet. So you do not get to see me unfortunately only my heels! (which were 2 sizes too big but I dealt with it)

I did not get any photos as usually you are not allowed to publish these kinds of things online.
You can watch the clip here. I am wearing black heels and a zebra print skirt in this clipart about 33 seconds in.

Enjoy.

10 Year Anniversary

28/01/15 is the date of my 10 year anniversary with my boyfriend.

Seems insane to write as time has gone so fast, it does not seem like 10 years!

I also find it quite sad that people are shocked that a couple can last so long at a young age. I always get a surprised reaction when I tell people.

I also get asked if we are getting married. I have started to tell people not to worry, I will let them know when It happens and not to worry about it until then.

We started the day by visiting the Imperial War Museum in London. We went here a few months ago but didn't manage to see all the rooms.

We both love history and museums, I find them so interesting. There is a section about the holocaust and it is heartbreaking.

I prefer to visit these places during the week as it is less busy, (minus the groups of school children) and you can spend as long as you like reading everything.

We then got ready to go out for dinner. I wore my Leopard print skirt and top (You can see the outfit by clicking here )

We had reservations to eat at the Oxo Tower and when we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who took our coats and showed us to our seats.

The view was incredible, and even though we did not get window seats we were sat close to the window.

The food was incredible, I think it has been one of the best meals I have had!
I found a deal online that was three courses and a cocktail for £30 per person.
Of course we had extra drinks and sides and this added up but I felt it was worth it.

I definitely recommend eating here if you have a special occasion. Just remember to book in advance! The restaurant also wrote in chocolate on our dessert plates 'Happy 10th Anniversary' which was a lovely gesture.

All in all it was a lovely night and we left feeling totally stuffed but with warm hearts.
Here is to another 10! Cheers.

January sales shopping

First, I want to say a big Hello to all my new followers!
I hope that you enjoy the roller coaster journey that is my life.

I actually bought these clothes quite a while ago now but just have not got round to posting them.

I love sales shopping but I have to be with the right people (usually my mum) and in the right mood.

I have come to the conclusion that I cannot stop buying clothes. I have a tiny wardrobe in London and each hanger has three items layered upon each other on it.
I only sorted it out in December and I am back to square one. Gah!

Anyway, onto the bargains and photos.
* I apologise for the some of the images bad quality. I have used a mixture of me wearing the items and from the website that the item was from.

Ok, so this outfit was actually a Christmas present that I chose but I am going to include it anyway. It is a crop top and pencil skirt combo from Miss Selfridge. The skirt is £25 and the top is £20. These are NOT in the sale.
On a side note I am thinking of cutting my hair short so It would like this. Thoughts?

I have finally bought this vest! It has been sold out EVERYWHERE! but I managed to find one in the sale that was three sizes bigger but it is ok I'm going to be creative and tie it at the back or wear as a baggy vest. It was £7.
You can see it on my want blog post by clicking here.

I bought this jumper from Urban outfitters and it was in the sale at £40. I cannot remember exactly but I think originally it was £65-£80. I thought this would be a perfect slouchy jumper for dance.

I bought these trousers from Topshop. I have taken the tag off of them now but i think they were £15. They are highwaisted and tight fitting trousers. I liked the pattern detail on them.

Next I got this hat from Next. It was £10.00 in the sale and I really liked the colour of it and thought it was a bit different to the normal black fedoras.

I don't normally buy skirts this length but I love the sequins and colours on this skirt. It was £20 and originally was £39 from Miss Selfridge.

I LOVE these shoes. These were from Newlook at £18. I think they go well with the skirt. I wish I was able to post a clearer image but they have sold out online. They have black sequins on them which add a little sparkle. If you can't tell I love sparkle!

I thought this skort (I believe this is what it is called) was unusual. They are shorts but have the front part overlapping looking like a skirt. It was originally £35 but I got it for £17

I bought this cape from New look. I have wanted a cape for so long and I felt this one was lovely. I loved the colours on it.I think originally it was £26.99 but I got it for £18.

And that is that. Will try not to spend anymore on clothes now and trying to save the rest of my Christmas money on dance classes.

Modelling Vintage Clothes

Over the Christmas period I was asked if I would like to model some vintage clothes for a website 'Lovely's Vintage Emporium'

How could I say no?

First, I tried on many amazing winter coats. I felt so Glamorous!
Next it was followed by different vintage print dresses and suit pieces.

I was informed that a few of the pieces were sourced from a society lady in New York. I would have loved to have known more about her as her clothes were fabulous!

The website is updated regularly and most of the pieces I modelled have not been featured yet.

However there have been a few items that have sold straightaway! So best be quick if you see a bargain! The company is based in the UK but ship worldwide.
The quality of the clothes are amazing and there are plenty of photos on the website to show the quality. Lynette (The owner) is lovely and will answer any questions.

Have a peek! Click here

As usual I have included a couple of the pieces I modelled below.
Enjoy!

Christmas Showgirl gigs

During the month of December I was very busy with the Nobel peace prize concert and also some smaller scale dance gigs.

These were my favourite as I got to wear some lovely costumes. The gigs took place mostly around the south west and were with a dance group called The Flaming Feathers

The dance genres that I performed with these fab girls were Samba, Charlston, Show girl and burlesque.

Each show had a different number of girls depending on the clients requirement, ranging from 2-5. (More dancers are available)

Performing at these shows are a lot  different then performing at big events. I actually find these more terrifying for some reason. I guess its the closeness of the audience and the fact that you can see everyones faces rather than the bright lights of the arena.

One of the nights I didn't feel well but I carried on regardless as it would have been too complicated to rearrange the transitions. That's show business folks!

I have included a couple of the photos we had taken below. Enjoy!
