Small fashion and beauty buys

I went home last weekend to visit my family and to attend rehearsals for some Christmas gigs I have coming up.

While I was there I did buy a couple of things ready for the festive season!

Ill start with the most boring but should I say sensible purchase?

I have heard good reviews about this product. Vicks first defence spray

I am prone to catching colds so when I started to feel run down I started to use this and it helped keep the bug at bay. However I forgot to take it with me on the weekend and I caught a cold. boohoo.

I then bought some rings from Forever 21

I think the price range was about £3.50 per set. I loose rings like no ones business so I never can buy anything to expensive for that reason. I am going to be a nervous wreck if I get engaged!
I like wearing a mixture of midi and normal rings on both hands.

I then bought the Tanya Burr half lashes

I thought these would be handy during the day or in the evening when I did not want to wear a full lash. I have not tried these yet so cannot give a full review of them but they look nice in packaging.

Technically I bought this online but it arrived the same day as when I went shopping.
This is the Moonchild dress from Motelrocks.com
It was quite pricy for me at £48 but I found a 20% off voucher so I managed to get the price down. I have had my eye on it for so long but it keeps selling out! This time I saw there was one left and I raced against the clock to take the last one in my size. Result!

Last but not least, I bought this top and skirt from New look  the skirt was£19.99 and the top £17.99 but again I had a 25% voucher which made me happy.

I think this would be perfect for going to a bar in the evening or a nice meal. I have been looking for a nice pencil skirt for a while so I was pleased to have this in my wardrobe.

And that was the end of my purchases. I am trying not to buy anything now until after Christmas but easier said then done!

Vogue class

Just a short post today.

For a couple of weeks I have been trying out a new vogue dance class in London.

I have to say I have been loving it. The teacher Benjamin Milan is a lovely guy who teaches with positivity and makes you feel that you are the fiercest person on this earth.

I am still learning the different styles within the vouge umbrella but I am enjoying the ride.

I highly recommend these classes or if there is a class by you I say give it a try!

Benjamin recently helped choreograph the fka twigs Google glass campaign which can be seen by clicking here

Classes are currently at Studio 68 on Thursday 6-730 pm and soon to be on at Pineapple dance studios next January.

Here is a video to one of the workshops he recently taught.
Enjoy!

My skincare routine

I thought I would make a post about my current skincare routine.
I have oily/combination skin which can get quite dry on my forehead and cheeks in winter.

I have had the same routine now for a few years but tend to use different products to switch it up a bit.

Every morning in the shower  I use Clean and Clear Blackhead eraser
I prefer a facial scrub that has small beads in it that really makes you feel that you are cleaning your face completely. I really like this facial scrub and have found it has kept black heads at bay. I also like this product as it usually has some sort of discount on it making it cheap as chips!

After this I go straight to my moisturiser. I used to cleanse and tone first but my Doctor said I should take a break as I could be "over cleaning" my face. I am not sure, what do you guys think?

The moisterizer I use is Nivea light moisturising day cream
I find this moissterizer is just right for my skin type. It soaks well into my skin and does not leave it shiny. It also helps to moisterize any dry areas I may have from the winter months. It also has a SPF 15 built in which I love. I will definitely repurchase this again.

Next I use Clinique all about eyes I love this moisterizer under my eyes. It reduces any puffiness I may and makes my eyes look awake and refreshed. It is a little pricy but you only need a little amount and I probably only need to purchase twice a year.

I think that this product is my faveourite skincare product I have! I have used Witch hazel blemish stick for years and always keep going back to it. It helps to dry out any acne I have and if I have been naughty and picked my skin it feels that it is healing the area. Love this product and if they ever discontinue it I would be heartbroken!

In the evening it is pretty much the same routine however I do use face wipes instead of a scrub. I know, I know they are supposed to be bad for your skin. I guess they make everything so much easier! I am tempted to stop using them for a bit and try another product just to see if there is any change to my skin.

Once a week I tend to use an exfoliating scrub such as Clinique 7 day scrub
This makes my skin feel silly smooth and gets rid of any blackheads that I may still have. I try not to overdo this as I feel I'm scrubbing my face every day anyway.

Finally the most expensive product and the one I'm happy to say I use the least is Renee Rouleau Anti Cyst treatment
I suffer from cystic acne from time to time. They tend to stick around for a couple of months and take ages to go down. This product I find helps dry them out and form some kind of a head on them. (They are usually large red bumps)
I found on some occasions it has stopped them forming so big. However other times it does not seem to do much. It is expensive for the tiny product but I have had mine for about two years and it's just starting to run out now.

And that is that. If you have any reccomendations for future products I could try please let me know in the comments below! Thank you!

MAC Rocky Horror review

Yes! I have finally got my hands on some of the Rocky Horror Mac collection.

I have been waiting for this for so long but unfortunately all the MAC stores by me did not sale this collection. I had to wait until now to go to a pro store to get my hands on some.
Unfortunately most of it had sold out including the lipsticks and blusher which was what I really wanted! Sigh.

Never the less it was the packaging that I really wanted so I thought I would just buy 2-3 products anyway.
I love that it has the statement lips on the front of the boxes and then the inside is full of black and white photos.
I actually have a handbag with the exact same print as the inside of the box so I am loving that!

I decided to go for the MAC invisible set powder as I thought this tub would last for ages and I've always wanted to try it.

This left my face feeling matt and helped to secure my foundation in place. It sets transparent so perfect if you do not want any extra colour on your face.

Next I thought I would try the 3d black glitter pot. Again this is something I have wanted for a while and I bought the mixing medium to go with it.

This had a lot of silver sparkle within  it. When it is used with the mixing medium it does not budge. I cannot wait to wear this on a night out, maybe over carbon eyeshadow.

All in all I am happy with these purchases. I did wish that I managed to grab the lipsticks but I wil get over it.
What is your faveourite item from this collection?

Up on the roof

Saturday was a surprise birthday event for my friend and waacking dance teacher.

A few of us scrambled into a photostudio that her boyfriend works in and set up birthday decorations around it. We then hid and did the whole "SURPRISE!" At her.
She was very surprised!

We then had a quick silly fun photo shoot using props and dancing around having fun. A good time was had by all and the photos below show it!
Oh in these photos I am wearing American Apparell disco pants, black crop top from Primark, boots and necklace from Newlook.

Next up was a cute little French cafe for some nibbles and champagne. I forgot to take any photos here as was enjoying the champagne a little too much ;)

Our final stop and the main event was the Madison rooftop bar overlooking St Paul's Catherdral and the rest of London. This place was amazing and the cocktails were also very nice. Pornstar martini for me please! Keeping it classy all the way!

The music was generally house music but later on some hiphop and retro music came on which was great.

The view was incredible and I recon during the day it would also be lovely.
The food and drink pricing are on the heavy side but we had our own tables and personal waiter so that was good.
I then had to dash like Cinderella to make my last train home.
I would recommend this bar if you have a special event or do not have a budget to spend.

The photos do not do the place justice but I have included them anyway.
